For Laura’s project, “A Trip Through My Eyes” -Part iii”- I moved to Los Angeles in the late 80’s, and never experienced such a polarizing place to live.  Great weather, culturally abundant, land of opportunity and beach or skiing within a 45 minute drive in either direction.  Sound like paradise…. yet it is also overcrowded (just under 10 million in Los Angeles county, a lot of peeps), crazy traffic, often smoggy and let’s face it… it’s LALA land.  But despite this polarization, it is home, where I raised my family and continue to live.  The part of L.A. I live in is on a cul de sac just up the hill from a small village called Montrose, or as I like to think of it “Bedford Falls”.  Filled with “real” people who run small Mom and Pop shops.  Many of of these Mom and Pops know me by name and vice versa.  This is where I spend my time, and money.  It’s also just 20 to 30 minutes from any part of L.A., making it peaceful yet convenient.  So, welcome to my “L.A.”.  The pic, well nothing exudes sunny so cal like palm trees, paradise (lost?).
